What is the ZYC?
Aims
- To represent the Zionist Youth movements within and without the Jewish community.
- To run joint campaigns on issues of common interest and concern.
- To facilitate the running of inter-movement events and/or va’adot, as well as being a forum for involvement in communal events subject to being passed by vote.
Composition of the Zionist Youth Council
- Each Zionist youth movement shall send one person to each meeting. It is up to the discretion of the chair to allow more than one member from each movement to attend meetings.
- Who comes to the meeting is entirely up to the movement and it does not have to be the same person at each meeting. Each movement may cast one vote regardless of the number of representatives at the meeting.
- Members of other relevant organisation such as UJS, Sinclair house and other Jewish youth clubs shall be invited to participate in relevant campaigns and events run by the ZYC as guests without voting powers in ZYC meetings.
- Members of outside organisations may propose events and campaigns to the council and may attend at the discretion of the chairs, as guests without voting powers.
- The ZYC shall have two chairs. Any movement worker who wishes to stand can. The two individuals with the most votes will become co-chairs.
- The chairs can vote and represent their movement.
